Sorry for the lateness of the update but I’ve been a bit distracted this week due to the launch of the new Xbox 360. I worked 6pm – 2am Thursday and left for work again at 6am. Due to the disruption I was extremely lax on food intake controls this week and was fully expecting to have gained on Friday’s weigh in. I’m pleased to say that my weight loss seems to have hit a nice rhythm and I’m consistantly losing 2lbs per week. With a little extra effort I should soon be hitting my tartget 2.5lbs. This week I’ll be branching out from merely swimming and adding in 20 minutes of cycling every morning, with a 50 length swim at lunch.

Noooooooo! A significant slow down from last week! I can now confirm that eating burgers and drinking a bottle of Bombay Sapphire on the beach is not conducive to weight loss. So now you know, and knowing is half the battle. Missed the gym on Sunday as I was barely able to stand but did manage to summon the energy to download Puzzle Quest 2 which is a decent puzzler with unnecessary moving around type elements. I’m not really convinced that the voice acting adds anything to the game or the new navigation makes it any better than the last installment, though I am pleased that I can now avoid battles if I so choose. There are lots of exciting new mini games to play though with looting being my new all time favourite thing in the world! If this shapes up to be anywhere near as long as the first game it’s a steal at 1200 MS Points!

Anyway, back to the weight loss excitement. I’ve now completely ditched ‘weight loss hypno-toad’ as he’s irritating beyond belief. I had another go after my last blog and ended up waking up furious at around 4.30am. Enough. I also didn’t mention in my last post that I’ve been taking Acai, Green tea and Fish oil capsules in conjunction with my revolutionary ‘Eat less and exercise’ weight loss program (mostly because I’m somewhat embarrassed that the lady managed to sell me the Acai AFTER I’d researched it and found there was no scientific evidence to support the many claims made about its magical properties). Surprise surprise, I have seen no added benefit from taking the Acai and Green Tea. I spent much of the week stressing out that I would end up heavier than my starting weight on today’s weigh in, but I ramped up my gym visits to 2 per day and 3 when I’m on a late shift and managed to get rid of those pesky Gin and Burger pounds. Hurrah! 14 days down and a mere 169 to go! Your lack of sponsorship towards my efforts is starting to get embarrassing….

Think of the children!

Pound for Pound update!

Week one complete! I’ve seen some awesome results so far with only a few changes to my lifestyle. I have been going for a 20 minute swim twice a day (before work and on my lunch hour) and generally eating more sensibly.

During the first few days I tried hypnosis but the man’s voice was getting on my nerves. Not only does he keep waking me up when he says ‘STOP……eating fattening foods’ but he says ‘greaZy’ which annoys me even when I’m sleeping. I’ve decided this isn’t the way to go and sleeping with my headphones on and my iPhone on the bed has already led to me smashing a lamp by accident and randomly calling  at least one person in my sleep.

I’ve also purchased a Withings scale and the Weightbot app both of which are amazing! Combined these provide enough info to be interesting and motivational, but not enough to make you obsess over every little detail. Plus there are GRAPHS! I love graphs…they’re so cool. My Withings scale should post my results weekly on Twitter if I’ve managed to configure it correctly so that’s all kinds of wonderful for keeping me on track.

So….week one results!

My name is Josie and I am the owner of www.level256.co.uk. I also work as a manager in a video game store. As an avid gamer and creative type I don’t get much time to exercise and have ballooned to a less than awesome 231lbs. Enough! I thought to myself. It’s time to sort it out. So I’m now planning to lose 60lbs in 6 months. Although that sounds like a lot it actually breaks down as just 2 1/2 lbs lost per week which seems very achievable for someone who is used to eating Subway or KFC for lunch at work. I started my journey on 25th June and am planning to lose weight by exercising at least once a day and controlling my food intake. I will not be dieting as I feel that dieting makes most people unhappy and I’m in this to become a happier person – happy people are allowed cake. FACT. As a motivational tool I have decided to use this weight loss journey as a way to raise some money for Children’s hospices UK
